Pharmacodynamics
Abiraterone acetate (Zytiga 250mg Tablet) is converted in vivo to abiraterone, which is an androgen biosynthesis inhibitor. It inhibits 17α-hydroxylase/C17,20-lyase (CYP17). This enzyme is expressed in testicular, adrenal, and prostatic tumor tissues. It is required for androgen biosynthesis.
Contraindications
This medication is not indicated to patients who already have a known allergy to any of the ingredients of Zytiga.
