Anabrez 1mg tablet is a hormone therapy medicine. The generic name of this medication is Anastrozole and it is used to treat breast cancer in post-menopausal women. It is a competitive non-steroidal aromatase inhibitor. This medication is prescribed by the doctor who also decides on the course of the medicine.
Pharmacodynamics
Estrogen influences the breast cancer cells to undergo uncontrollable cell proliferation. Aromatase enzyme converts androgens to estrogen, which is primarily found in the adrenal glands. Anabrez is a non-steroidal inhibitor that competes with the aromatase enzyme and inhibits the enzyme’s ability to produce estrogen.
